Welcome
to Our Site
At the Society of Mayflower Descendants (Europe) we acknowledge that we are privileged to live in the heartland of the Separatist movement which occurred in the 16th and 17th centuries.
Here, the Lutheran ideals arrived from Europe, igniting a quiet revolution that lead to the establishment of one of the most famous early settlements in the United States. On our coast the Mayflower was built; in our ports she was provisioned, along with the Speedwell, for her trip to the New World. In our villages, the Mayflower passengers lived, worked and worshipped.
Many of these historical sites are well documented, both in England and Holland.
The Mayflower story is an extraordinary one, and this is where it all started.
